Shuddering brakes, trailer sway, or grinding under load? Worn drums and bearings put safety at risk. An ABS-ready hub built for Dexter's Tow Assist restores smooth braking, steady tracking, and the peace of mind to tow without second-guessing.
You know that split second when traffic ahead suddenly stops and you're forced to slam on your brakes? You glance in the rearview mirror hoping your trailer is stopping, not swaying, skidding, or jackknifing. That's when Dexter's ABS Tow Assist earns its keep and this hub and drum are part of that system. Inside this replacement assembly, a tone ring constantly feeds data to your existing sensor and to the ABS Tow Assist brain, helping prevent wheel lockup and keeping your trailer tracking straight. It helps give you the control and stability you count on under pressure.
Keeping your hubs greased is faster and cleaner with the included E-Z Lube cap. Just pop the plug, attach your grease gun to the zerk, and service the bearings without tearing the hub apart or making a huge mess.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
Figuring out your bolt pattern is easier than it sounds. The first number tells you how many bolt holes you have, and the second is the diameter of the circle they sit on.
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. For example, 8 on 6-1/2" means there are 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. For example, 5 on 4-1/2" means there are 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a quick look at this Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for your Dexter ABS Tow Assist for your 5,200 pound to 7,000-pound EZ Lube axles. Now if you have shuttering brakes, trailer sway, or that grinding sound when you're under a load, those are all red flags that your drums and your bearings are worn out, and your safety might also be at risk due to that, so that's where this ABS-Ready Hub designed for Dexter's Tow Assist comes in. This is going to bring back smooth braking, steady tracking, and, most importantly, peace of mind when you're towing. This iron hub and drum includes the integrated toothy edge that you see right here, and this is gonna be ready to connect with Dexter's ABS Tow Assist System.
This edge constantly feeds data to the ABS system to help prevent wheel lockup and keep your trailer tracking straight, so it's all about stability and control when you need it most. So this is gonna be for anyone that has an EZ Lube axle rated from 5,200 to 7,000 pounds, and then you can see that this is going to work with a number 42 spindle and wheel sizes from 16 to 17-1/2 inches. This is obviously gonna work with your electric brakes, and the measurement or the dimensions of our drum is gonna be 12 inches in diameter and 2 inches wide, and you're gonna get this one assembly with everything that you see here. And just to go over the pieces of the kit that you're going to get, you are going to get this outer bearing, number 14125A, and most of the time you can see it etched there along the perimeter of the bearing, and then the inner bearing is gonna be 25580, that might be kind of difficult for you to see, and then you are also going to get the grease seal, the EZ Lube Grease Cap and then the grease cap plug, the lug nuts that I kind of have loosely put on the wheel studs there, the nut retainer, and the spindle jam nut, and then the races are already pressed in, they're already pre-installed. So our pattern here is 8 on 6-1/2 inches, and if you need help figuring out your bolt pattern or how to measure bolt pattern, just take a look at this product page a little bit lower.
We have step-by-step instructions that you can follow to accurately measure your bolt pattern. One other thing I wanted to mention is stamped into this hub. It says, "No rebore allowed", just so you're aware of that. But if you happen to have any other questions, whether it's about this assembly or anything else that we carry here at etrailer.com, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need.
Well, again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
